Beyonce’s Reggae and Dancehall appreciation was on full display in her history making epic performance at Coachella. Queen Bey dedicated about 3 minuets of her 1.5hr performance to Reggae and Dancehall inspired set. Beyonce is the first Black woman to headline Coachella, the annual music festival in California. Beyonce shut down the festival re-dubbed #BeyChella (courtesy of DJ Khalid) with an explosive non-stop performance that included a full orchestra, an HCBU style marching band and of course amazing dancers. Beyonce brought back Destiny’s Child, had a quick sister dance break with Solange and of course brought out her hubby Jay-Z.
Beyonce’s affitinity for Reggae and Danchall have always been present and she recently did a promo for her upcoming On The Run II tour with Jay-Z with a popular reggae infused promo trailer.

Can we also talk about the outfits?! All designed by Olivier Rousteing of Balmain. That black and yellow appropriately represented The Beyhive and they are lined up to buy BAK. BAK pays homage to the black greek sorotities and fraternaties. Many are speculating what it stands for, but they are greek letters B- Beta, A-Delta, K- Kappa also implies Beyonce, the delta sign is similar to the “Roc” triangle symbol, representing Jay-Z and “K” for Knowles. All speculation, but this theory seems relavant, so we’re here for it!
