Carifbfluercers brought the vibes at Blogalicious! It was a great experience. Getting the chance to connect with other Caribbean content creators at a multicultural blogging conference made it even more enjoyable. Special thanks to the ladies on the panel Kerry-Ann (Carry on Friends), Melisa Boutin (Your Money Worth) and Deanna (Dys Chick). Our girl Wanda of L’union Suite had a last minute amazing opportunity and couldn’t make the panel, but we represented for her in spirit!)
The Caribfluencers tribe gathering was just like talking to family, we discussed cultural appropriation vs. appreciation, networking and partnering with each other as we grow, engaging our demographic and of course monetization.
Even though there we had a smaller crowd for our session, a number of the bloggers and sponsor attendees were of Caribbean descent, we always seem to draw out di culture when we find our tribe. It felt like a little Caribbean tribe everytime we found out a new person was of Caribbean descent.
We most definitely took advantage of all the sponsor suites and events, getting to know each other and some of the sponsors proved to be a great networking opportunity. The Kia suite was my favorite. They hosted various brands like Kreyol Essence and Cee Cee’s Closet.
We had the vibes on our side as it was also Miami Carnival weekend so a few of us dipped out of the conference for a fetes! I’m happy to say that I’m no longer a Soca Brainwash virgin (glad bag buss!) We had a time!
