I tried Blue Apron for the first time and I love it! I love to cook, but trying new recipes is sometimes a bit challenging.I’ve been doing a lot of meal planning to make my weekdays easier. I find a recipe, get the ingredients at the grocery store, prep and make the dish. I somehow always forget an ingredient, miss a step…I always make up for it, but still a hassle nonetheless.
What I like about Blue Apron, is that all the ingredients come to you in exact portions. I got the meals for two since. I made West African Peanut Chicken, Beef Tacos, Chicken & Black Bean Enchiladas, all recipes that I wouldn’t usually try to cook myself or I’ve made it in a different style. It’s the small touches to the dish that I wouldn’t have tried myself, I’ve never cooked with rice wine vinegar or miso paste, I enjoyed trying new flavors and using new techniques.
Blue Apron doesn’t replace your grocery store trips but allows you to try new recipes. Click To TweetWhen you sign up download the Blue Apron app. Adjust your account to your particular flavor profiles of what you like (I don’t eat pork.) It shows you upcoming recipes and you can skip a week if you don’t like the menu (you can skip as many weeks as you would like.) It doesn’t replace your weekly grocery store trips, but it does take away the hunting down of ingredients and allows you to try a few new meals.
It also inspired me to try a new place to eat when I go out. I’m currently looking to try an African restaurant soon…I need a taste of the real thing! Leave me a recommendation in NYC area below!
