One of my New Year’s resolution was to get serious about eating healthier and having a regular exercise schedule. I’ve been making small changes in my eating habits and infusing exercise where I can. I’m still working on it, but I’m definitely getting better. In January I did the #30DaySmoothieChallenge (I saw it on instagram) by Simple Green Smoothies to kick start my healthy eating habits and wanted to share one of my favorite green smoothies with you. I’ve made different variations, but this is by far my favorite. FYI, I use a Ninja blender to mix, single serving size.
1/2 a Banana
Frozen Mangos
Baby Spinach
1 Kiwi
Frozen Mixed Berries (Blackberries, Blueberries & Rasberries)
1/2 Cup of Coconut Water
I’ve been making green smoothies every morning and I’ve noticed that I have more energy throughout the day (I still have a small cup of coffee, but 1-2 cups less than I use to have, so I consider that progress). I just started adding chia seeds to my smoothies, but I didn’t at first. This challenge was easy enough the follow and I was able to purchase all the ingredients at my regular grocery store. If you’re interested Simple Green Smoothies will be running another challenge in April.
