Bajan R&B singer Hal Linton released his mixtape Technicolour and held an exclusive listening session sponsored by Hennessey where we got to preview some of his favorites songs from the album. Appropriately titled, the album a mix of mostly mid-tempo songs with strong baselines accompanying Hal’s sultry vocals as he tells stories through the music. Stories, which he states are personal to him, giving insights to the crooner’s relationships — past or present remains to be confirmed!
A labor of love and a project close to his heart, he wanted to take his time to perfect the album’s sound. We got the album via flash drive and I’ve have been listening for almost a week straight. It’s a great listen from beginning to end, but my favorites are “Winter Coat” and “Memory Loss” (check out the video for “Memory Loss” below). I also love the Caribbean inspired track “Critical Condition” featuring fellow Bajan singer/songwriter Shontelle.
The album is free for fans and available for download on Datpiff (click the link to enjoy)
