HBO has purchased the screen rights to Jamaican author Marlon James’ book “A Brief History of Seven Killings”. I had never heard of the book, but after learning that it was inspired by real life inspired events about the infamous Shower Posse, it definitely makes me want to read the book before whatever movie or series HBO has planned is released. {Jamaica Observer}

I read a brief history of seven killings last summer. Intriguing gritty and graphic but I love the artistic liberties of creating a story around the events. I also see elements from the Marley documentary in the novel.
