Selita Ebanks launched her swimwear line SASS (which stands for Selita’s accessories, shoes and swimwear) at BET’s Rip the Runway. This line makes perfect sense for the Caymanian super model, especially with her being a Victoria Secret Angel, so I really wanted to like the line, but I was totally underwhelmed. Yes the swimwear was sexy, but they didn’t exude the vibrant swimwear I imagined from her. Aside from the consistency in her use of chains, silver and gold, it lack a certain cohesion and the color scheme was all over the place. Lets look at a few pieces on the runway.
This silver metallic one piece was actually one that I liked. The low plunging neckline with the chains and the high cut thigh balance each other out pretty well. It would have shined without the visor.
Black and gold is always a great combination, this 2-piece is cute enough to show off stellar abs and sit on the sand being cute, not sure how much swimming you can do it this one.
This latex black one piece looks more like dominatrix outfit than a swim suit.
I didn’t like this piece at all.
Although I’m not crazy about what I saw on Rip The Runway, I’d love to see more from the line. Check out this short film directed by Coco & Breezy.
